The Tirisano Trust bought and branded a school bus for a school in Kempton Park. The bus will be used to transport teachers and children to meetings and events.
“We are very grateful to Tirisano and Atlas Copco for this donation, as it has come at a time when the school really needed it,” said deputy principal, Mr Brian Naidoo.
The school has had a vehicle since 1994 but they have been unable to use it for a year. The school applied for assistance with Tirisano last year in August and within a week, sponsorship was granted.
“The procedure was prompt and hassle-free. Soon after handing in our proposal to the trust we received news that it had been approved and all they needed was to send through three quotes for vehicles and they would let us know which deal would be the most viable,” said Naidoo.
It did not take long before the branded vehicle was delivered to the school. It has already come in handy in transporting the prefects to their recent leadership camp.
The school held an official hand over ceremony at a special assembly where representatives from the school, school governing body and Tirisano were present.
“The Tirisano Trust was formed two years ago as part of Atlas Copco’s CSI. The trust gives to schools across the country that require assistance. We wish the school all the best with the vehicle and they should enjoy it,” said Mr Victor Swart, Tirisano Trust trustee.
